When will this become available? I'm interested in ordering enough copies for my JV & Varsity teams.

Yes. It should be out in early 2012. It will be made available for purchase at FCA.org just like the Baseball New Testament we put out this past year.

My grandson plays on a tournament baseball team. Thus my husband and I travel with him. As a result, we miss a lot of church. My husband and I have started a devotional called "Diamond Devotionals". Very simply, we send out text to everybody on the team and arrive appx 30 min. prior to the time the boys have been ask to arrive. We conduct a short devotional prior to their first game. I would love your devotionals to share with the team. Looking forward to seeing this in 2012. Any suggestions I can use would be wonderful. These boys are 10-12 years old. I LOVE them

Are we training our kids that the most important thing on Sunday is sports instead of being in fellowship with the local church?

This is a tough call. If your kid is good enough to play on one of these "select teams" then they are probably better than most kids playing regular Little League or Babe Ruth League. So you want to train them to be able to travel and play at a high level all the time. Mostly getting them ready for college or even the pro's. The sooner the better. Plus, kids who are that good usually really enjoy playing the game. They also need to learn how to stay involved with Christ even if they are not in church that day. ( Thank God for the lady who is doing devotionals for them) They have to learn how to be a light in the darkness. I believe pro teams have a traveling Chaplin with them. At least one who shows up on Sundays. With that being said I absolutely DO NOT AGREE WITH KIDS PLAYING GAMES ON SUNDAY! These kids should be allowed that fellowship time with the Lord. However, if you are on the road and cannot get to your church you should still be allowed Sundays off. I played baseball on Sundays for many years in an independent league. God showed me it was one reason why I fell so far away from Him, and it took me so long to get back to Him. We did not have a Chaplin or even anyone who acted like a Christian. God told me I had to choose between Him or baseball. So, we had only a few games left that season. I asked God to allow me to finish that season so I could fulfill my commitment I already made, and then I would retire. I have not played in a competitive baseball game since. That has been 2 years ago. There are many pro Christian athletes today. It is how they make a living. I'm sure they struggle with this very issue themselves. I realize that these kids are just that; kids. They need a solid foundation in the church so they can be a light in the darkness. So aside from the playing on Sundays I don't mind kids playing in these leagues. They should be allowed Sundays off to spend time with the Lord. GOD IS ALWAYS FIRST! We have to teach them that!!!! Here is a suggestion. If you are on the road on Sunday then find a local church to go to. I've never been to a town or city that didn't have a church!

I think There should be Saturday only tournaments every weekend and then teams can practice after Church on Sunday. Maybe once a month they could go to a big event that would consist of two or three day weekend/holiday. I have asked this a few times but I guess the Money lost is more important.

We home school, we give our kids five days of devotion to God. That is the first subject they study each day. Sundays, if we can not make it to church, they get a sermon from David Jeremiah on T.V. Just an option.

While I would love for everyone to be in church on Sunday morning rather than on the baseball diamond, the chances of me changing the current culture are slim. Chances are that many of the families with children playing on the weekends are not "church-goers" anyway. In the meantime, I support the Jesus-model of going where the people are. What a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ with those who might never know Him. Pretty incredible "mission field"!

Hey there would you mind letting me know which webhost you're using?

I've loaded your blog in 3 different browsers
and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most.
Can you recommend a good internet hosting provider at a fair price?

Cheers, I appreciate it!
