Joe Reed Collegiate Ministry Director FCA Baseball General Manager

Joe, Vonny, and Caleb joined FCA Baseball in May 2005 where Joe was the Head Coach of the FCA Grays Summer Collegiate Baseball Team. In 2006, Joe became the Collegiate Ministry Director and General Manager of FCA Summer Collegiate Baseball. He strongly believes as Christians and as Christian Coaches and Athletes we are to strive for excellence in everything we put our hands to, not for ourselves, but unto the Glory of God. He stresses that in baseball and in life, our talents are for His purposes and we are called to use them to the fullest ability and to live as solid examples as a testimony to God’s greatness.
Coach Reed brings to FCA Baseball and to FCA Summer Collegiate Baseball Organization passion for Christ and for baseball. Reed is a native Missourian, born and reared in the St. Louis area while Vonny is from Kansas. He was a pitcher for William Jewell College (Liberty, MO) from 1992-1996 where he and Vonny met as she was a Nursing student. Reed graduated with a degree in Exercise Science with an Emphasis in Athletic Training. He has played and coached on many levels. Reed also has been a private baseball instructor for numerous high school, college, and professional players.
Coach Reed has been coaching for over 10 years starting as the Head Coach on Wentzville American Legion Baseball Team (St. Charles, MO area). At the collegiate level, Reed has been an Assistant Coach with Lindenwood University (St. Charles, MO) for 2 years, and then moved on to be the Head Coach at Asbury College (Wilmore, KY) for 3 years. After Asbury College, Reed was a tournament director for Memorial Sports Complex (Lexington, KY) where he helped with marketing, promotions, community relations, and corporate sponsorships to run youth baseball tournaments. Reed then went on to be the Pitching Coach at Transylvania University (Lexington, KY). Vonny has been a Registered Nurse during that time at each location.
Along with his duties at FCA, Coach Reed is currently a baseball instructor at the Swing Builder Baseball Academy (Lee’s Summit, MO) and resides in Lee’s Summit with his family.
