To Become An FCA Baseball Youth Team Member, You Will Need To Take The Following Steps:

Step 1)  Before you begin the FCA Baseball Youth Team Leader Application Process, download the Youth Team Contract Packet and review the documents to gain a better understanding of what will be expected of you as an FCA Baseball National Network Youth Team.  After reviewing the documents, come back to this page to continue the registration process.  Click the following link to download the PDF: FCA Baseball Youth Team Contract Packet.

Step 2)  Fill out the online FCA Baseball Prospective Youth Team or Project Membership Registration Form below and submit the required information to the FCA Baseball office.  Once you click the Submit Button, you will be re-directed to FCA's online Ministry Leader Application (MLA).

The MLA is an FCA National Office requirement for all volunteers (non-FCA Staff) leading and coordinating FCA projects and events.  The information requested on FCA Baseball's online registration form is additional information needed for making our final decision.  We know it is a lot of work to go through this involved application process, but we want to make sure that all of our FCA Baseball National Network Members are on the same page.  Nothing good comes easy, so please bear with the process, it will be worth it in the end.

Step 3)  Fill out and submit the online Ministry Leader Application (MLA) and submit it to FCA's National Office.

Important Instructions when filling out the FCA Experience section of the MLA ...

A.  When you get to the question asking:  As a Ministry Leader, you desire to participate
in the following FCA Ministries ... Go to the Community Ministry column and select " Other".
B.  Then, type FCA Baseball National Network in the
"Other" box.
C.  Next, when you get to the question asking: For what FCA Ministry are you completing this Ministry Leader Application? ... select "Sport Specific Ministry (Lacrosse, Golf, Baseball, Fitness, Etc.)."
D. As soon as you make this "Sport Specific Ministry" selection, the page will briefly refresh, bringing you to the next question:  For what Sport Specific Ministry are you completing this Ministry Leader Application?  ...  select "Baseball"
 from the pull-down menu box.

By following the above-mentioned MLA instructions, you will insure that the MLA will be sent to the FCA Baseball Office.

Step 4)  Once you click the MLA Submit Button, you will need to be patient and sit back and wait, while FCA Baseball reviews all of your submitted information, contacts your references and makes a final decision.  We will notify you as soon as possible via email of your acceptance, as well as provide you with a link to order your Leader's Kit through our FCAGear website.

As part of the online registration form, you will be asked to check three boxes.  One box is an agreement to strive to live by the FCA Coach's Mandate to the best of your ability and with God's help.  The second box is your agreement with an abbreviated mission statement and leader's code of conduct.  The third box is a statement agreeing to sign the FCA Baseball Youth Team Contract Packet documents as a team, which is your commitment to adhere to FCA's Youth Baseball Guidelines and Strategies.

The Coach's Mandate

Pray as though nothing of eternal value is going to happen in my athletes' lives unless God does it.

Prepare each practice and game as giving your "utmost for His highest."

Seek not to be served by my athletes for personal gain, but seek to serve them as Christ served the church.

Be satisfied not with producing a good record, but with producing good athletes.

Attend carefully to my private and public walk with God, knowing that the athlete will never rise to a standard higher than that being lived by the coach.

Exalt Christ in my coaching, trusting that the Lord will then draw athletes to Himself.

Desire to have a growing hunger for God's Word, for personal obedience, for fruit of the Spirit and for saltiness in competition.

Depend solely upon God for transformation—one athlete at a time.

Preach Christ's word in a Christ-like manner, on and off the field of competition.

Recognize that it is impossible to bring glory to both myself and Christ at the same time.

Allow my coaching to exude the fruit of the Spirit, thus producing Christ-like athletes.

Trust God to produce in my athletes His chosen purposes, regardless of whether the wins are readily visible.

Coach with humble gratitude as one privileged to be God's coach.

Youth Team Or Project Membership Agreements

I have read the Coach's Mandate, and agree to strive to live by its principles & guidelines to the best of my ability. I realize that it is impossible to perfectly live according to this creed, but my desire is to allow God to work in and through me daily to help me live by this life-directing statement of faith.

I hereby agree to the following abbreviated FCA Baseball Youth Team or Project Mission Statement and Leader's Code of Conduct if approved to be a leader: The FCA Baseball Youth Team or Project will present the opportunity to play, coach, teach & emphasize highly competitive & quality baseball, while growing as a whole person (physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally & spiritually). There are certain expectations that leaders agree to comply with during the season or duration of the project. 1. Abstaining from drugs and the abuse of alcohol & tobacco; 2. Abstaining from sexual immorality; 3. Representing Christ in a sportsmanlike manner through language and attitudes.

If registering as a youth team, I agree to have my players, coaches, parents and myself sign off on all of the following FCA Baseball Youth Team Contract Packet documents: 1) Mission & Vision Statements, 2) Coaching Philosophy & Commitment, 3) Team Philosophy, 4) Player Code of Character & Conduct, 5) Parent Code of Conduct, and 6) Medical Release. I also agree to keep a copy of each signed document for my records to use to enforce these principles and guidelines with my entire team of players, coaches and parents, and to mail a copy of all required documents to the FCA Youth Baseball office for organizational accountability. I further agree to strive to the best of my ability and with God's help to live by these organizational policies and to teach them to my team members, so we can be a shining light in our community for God's Kingdom, as a team and as individuals, through the game of baseball.
