August 25-Most Runs

Scripture Lesson: Exodus 14:5-31

On this date in 1922 in spite of a fourth inning lead of 25-6, the Cubs need to hold on to defeat the Philadelphia 26-23, as the Phillies leave the bases loaded in the 9th. The 49 total runs is the Major League Record for runs in a game.

Our Scripture passage today deals with the Biblical record for most runs through the Red Sea on dry land. This very familiar passage is about the parting of the Red Sea as God saved His people from the oncoming Egyptian army. The Egyptians wanted to recapture their slave labor force after the Pharaoh had let them go from bondage. Moses had led the people away and on came the army bearing down on them. God parted the Red Sea so the people could go through on dry land, when the army attempted to follow the waters came crashing down on them, killing them all. God won a great victory for His people and kept them safe.

1. Does God still intercede for His people? How?

2. Why is God always there for His people?

3. Thank God today for his watch care and love.

When the people needed God the most He was there for them. The same God will be there for us when we need Him!
