January 20: Eyes

Scripture Lesson: 1 Peter 3:12

Boston Red Sox great, Ted Williams, was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1966. Williams was the last batter to hit .400 for a season, averaging .406 in 1941. Twice the American League MVP, Williams set the all-time record for the highest on-base percentage for a career with a .483 OBP. Williams lost five years of his career to military service, serving as a fighter pilot in both World War II and the Korean War. Williams’ keen eyesight – reportedly 20/10 – was not only helpful in flying combat missions, but also enabled him to recognize pitches sooner. Williams is often referred to as “Baseball’s Greatest Hitter.”

Peter tells us in today’s text that, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayers.” God watches those who are living right lives – and not only that, He hears their prayers. If we are living for God, He is there for us, watching over us and listening for our prayers. The Creator of the universe loves us enough to watch over us and desires from us that we pray to Him. Amid all else that must be done, God takes time to be involved with us as individuals on a daily basis. The key for all of this boils down to one thing … are we living for Him? Together with God there is nothing we cannot accomplish, because He is actively looking at us and listening for us!

  1. How does it make you feel that God watches over you?

  2. Are there changes we need to make in our lives to live for Him? If so what changes?

  3. Thank god today for His amazing personal interest in you.

Ted Williams had amazing eyesight that enabled him to do great things on the baseball diamond. God has blessed us by watching over us and listening for our prayers, enabling us to do great things for Him!

I'm not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I've tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same outcome.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell
and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She
never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell

Greetings! I know this is kinda off topic but I'd figured I'd ask.
Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest authoring a blog
post or vice-versa? My blog covers a lot of the same subjects as yours and I believe we could greatly benefit from each other.

If you're interested feel free to send me an email.
I look forward to hearing from you! Fantastic blog by the way!

Is it tough to set up your own blog? I'm not very techincal but
I can figure things out pretty quick. I'm thinking about making my own but I'm not sure where to start.
Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thanks

I think that everything published was actually
very reasonable. But, what about this? what if you were to write a killer headline?
I ain't suggesting your content is not solid, but what if you
added a title that grabbed a person's attention? I mean FCA BASEBALL - January 20-Eyes is
kinda boring. You ought to look at Yahoo's home page
and watch how they create post headlines to grab people interested.

You might add a video or a picture or two to get readers interested about what you've got to say.
In my opinion, it could make your website a little livelier.
