11: Protection
Scripture Lesson: Numbers 6:22-27
On this date in 1958, the American League began requiring all
hitters to bear batting helmets, joining the National League which had adopted
the practice in 1954. Technology has come a long way in batting helmet design
and safety since the 1950s. Take a few minutes and Google the old batting
helmets to see the difference.
In today’s Scripture, Moses taught Aaron how to bless the
Israelites. These verses are some of the most beautiful words in all Scripture.
“The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be
gracious to you, the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” There
is no better protection this side of heaven than to have God keeping us and
showering us with His presence. How wonderful to know that our God loves us this
much, desiring to protect us, to be with us, to bless us, and to give us peace.
In the busyness of life, we often neglect that abiding presence of God that
protects and blesses us!
-
How can
you feel God’s abiding presence?
-
How much
does God love us?
-
What can
you do to be more aware of the presence of god in your life?
God wants to be with His children leading, protecting, and blessing
them. Today open your heart and mind to His abiding love!
