May 15-Team
May 15: Team
Scripture Lesson: Ephesians 4:4-6
Today is the birthday of Hall-of-Famer George Brett. In his 21-year
career, Brett had 3,154 hits, 317 home runs, 1,595 RBIs and a lifetime batting
average of .305. Brett spent all of his 21 seasons playing for the Kansas City
Royals, and he continues to work for the Royals as a vice-president and Spring
Training instructor.
In today’s text, Paul offers insight on what it means to be a part
of God’s team. Unity is the theme. There is one body, one Spirit, one hope, one
Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all. The last part of
verse six is a statement of faith, as Paul declares God to be over all, through
all, and in all. Team God is a team united under the Lordship of Jesus Christ
with God over all, through all, and in all!

Why is
it important for Christians to have unity?
Unity is the key for any successful baseball team and it is the key
for God’s team also.
