Scripture Lesson: Colossians 2:1-5

On this date in 2001 President George W. Bush becomes the 8th President to attend a World Series game and the first since Dwight Eisenhower to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Wearing a NYFD windbreaker in honor of the heroes of the 9-11 attacks, the Commander-in-Chief walks to the mound by himself, gives the thumbs up, and throws a perfect strike much to the delight of a nation. President Bush encouraged a nation that night!

In today’s Scripture lesson, Paul is trying to encourage those he has not had the opportunity to meet personally and share the Gospel. He wants all the people to understand what it truly means to experience the saving grace and love of Jesus Christ. He has heard of their faith is firm and constant. Paul must have been very proud of them and wanted to take this time in the letter to the Church at Colosse to tell them just that and to encourage them in their faith!

1.      Why is it important to encourage one another in our faith walk together?
2.      When is the last time you encouraged someone in their faith?
3.      Why is it important to have a firm growing faith?

Let us find someone today to encourage in their faith walk with Christ.
