Scripture Lesson: Acts 2:1-12

On this date in 2008, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice introduces Ken Griffey, JR as an American Public Diplomatic Envoy. This position in one in which the future Hall of Famer will represent “the values of the United States, not the government of the United States.” Griffey joins Cal Ripken, JR as Major Leaguers serving their country in the US State Department’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs.

Our Scripture lesson today is about the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came upon the early church. The members of the church went out and represented Christ by witnessing to the people from around the world who were visiting Jerusalem. The people were amazed at the power of the early church as they represented God by telling others the Good News about Jesus Christ.

1.      How can we represent Christ in the game of baseball?
2.      What does it mean to you to represent Christ?
3.      What part does the Holy Spirit play in being a powerful and affective witness for Christ?

As we live our lives may every word, action, and deed represent Christ in a manner worthy of Him!!
